Ok if you have a father that’s an original member of the Ohio Players, a cousin in the funk bands Sun and Dayton and a grandmother who inspired you as the church organist and pianist the thought you get sometimes is an artist who’s resting on the linage of family. But with Multi-instrumentalist, Composer and Producer Robert Sanae you get the exact opposite. He started his music career as a trumpeter, keyboardist, vocalist, as well as the youngest member of Zapp ft. Roger Troutman. And worked on projects for Shirley Murdock and Sugarfoot, to name few, during his tenure. Sanae released his self-titled debut “Robert Sanae & The Crater Creek Project “ in 2009 and his second project “Robert Sanae & The Crater Creek Project-Indigo Blue” in 2013 which features Contemporary Jazz with elements of the sound Dayton, Ohio is known for. Sanae’s father Robert Jones-Kummba blesses the project playing percussions on “Um Novo Dia” (A New Day) while Bob Baldwin lends his talent on the final polishing and some of the keyboard work on the track “A Time Machine”. On “Conversation with God“, there is a perfect blend with Sanae on keys and Matt Warner’s groove on Soprano Sax. To find more about this Dayton, OH native check out http://robertsanae.com/

In December of 2008 Peter “Peet” Ferencz and Adam Lorincz met  Beagle Beat Records' Zoli Farkas. After sending him a demo the rest is history in the making.  Their debut CD “Pink Spirit” released in 2010 was the spark that ignited a string of successful releases that the band likes to call “Pop-Funk-Jazz from the heart of Europe". Budapest, Hungary to be exact. The band's 2011“Turn You On” features the groovalicous  “Does The Music Turn You On”  as well as a phenomenal cover of Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September.  In 2013 the Peet Projectreleased “Overseas” that includes the funky lead track “Trafiq Jam” and a second single “24 Hours”.  Now they're taking over the airways with the new  single “Night Is Falling” from their forthcoming 2015 project that features a new line-up. After recording and performing with the  late  Wayman Tisdale, Tower of Power, Dave Koz and George Duke, multi-platinum Guitarist Mark Harper released his debut CD “The Mark Harper Project”. The first single “Dedication” was completed before Tisdale suggested it be their duet song and added his signature bass to the track. "Twenty III"  pays homage  to his  longtime friend, mentor and kindred spirit Tisdale  .  “Give More Love” is a great way to start the day or end the night. And if it’s classic soul you want “One Less Bell” features his former Mac Band alum and fellow Flint native Derrick McCambell on vocals. When your music is timeless, the date in the liner notes are beside the point. Avrid Nielsen’s “Dedicated To The Women “was released in 2006 and his Smooth Jazz Vocals will fit into today’s musical format. Hailing from Denmark, Sweden and aptly named “The Crooner” his first single “I Gave You Everything “is silky smooth.  “I Just Want Your Love” is a nice soulful ballad and “When You Love Me” gives you a Latin flare. After writing and recording his forthcoming Country EP “One Country”, you can count on him perusing both avenues in the style that made him “The Crooner”. Catch up with Arvid at http://crooner.dk/

Kolorful  Entertainment is blessing us  again!!!!! After his debut  CD ” A Journey Within Part 1” and his sophomore  release “Christmas With Krayon”. Pianist, Composer, Arranger and Producer Demetrius”Krayon” Nabors hits us with his latest offering “A Journey Within Part 2”. You’ll feel the groove from the start with the lead single “Let’s Dance” which features the smooth sax of Darren Rahn  . The sultry vocals of Anesha Birchett on “Funny How Time Flies” will take you back to that moment 1986.  “Krayon”  then  colors a beautiful scene and gives you a vibe straight from the motherland with guitarist and fellow  Detroiter  Tim Bowman on  “The Beauty of Cape Town”.  To find out the latest happenings with Demetrius go to http://dknmusic.com/home/

From the time I reached out to David McLorren  for his music to be played on my show I knew it was going to be something special. Everything Changes is David's third release. The title track and first single  features sax man  Rod Williams. With the relaxing sounds of Changes and  my personal favorite Island Life this project is loaded with  island vibes, smooth grooves, mellow moods and a nice vocal mix in Axiom-ism that’s sure to get your attention.  This CD pushes David’s many talents to the next level and his newest release Reesons is now avaliable. Check out David at http://www.davidmclorren.com/

Not long after giving us the mellow grooves of 2013’s Manhattan Vibe and the charting single “Tropical Breeze”, multi-instrumentalist   Phil Casagrande set his sights on going even higher. Well he’s done just that with his latest release Taken Off.  Just when you thought a song couldn’t get any better he added a few more ingredients to the Manhattan Vibe (Remix) track  so we can pick up smoothly right where we left off. The title track Taken Off has done just that as it gains momentum towards the charts.   Poinciana has the added talents of Saxman Rod Williams (Song for Melody, Under the Moonlight) that blend perfectly with Phil’s chilled vibe on keys.

There’s good reason soul is incorporated into the performing name of Lin “Soul Trumpeter” Rountree. On his latest release 'SoulFunky', that’s exactly where he hits you, your soul. Following his highly successful 'Serendipitous', Rountree knew exactly where he was going with this one. The tracks on this album are truly one of a kind. 'Givin' You Love' features fellow Detroiter Beth Griffith . This song is truly soul personified. Next, the up-tempo track 'Amplified' featuring label-mate LeBron Dennis and Mike “Big Mike” Hart will definitely let the groove get in. “Let’s Roll” featuring keyboardist and super producer Nate Harasim will have you dancing in your seat or on your feet. And let's not forget the title track and the soul funky exchange with Flutist Kim Scott .
